"The sandwiches have been very
important in setting the tone of a poem time called “What do
Monsters Eat?” First, I get the children to present ideas about
what monsters eat and their answers are hysterical!
I have helpers build the
sandwich as I read the story of Frankenstein’s sandwich. The
pig and deli pickle are favorites for the kids. There are a
number of good books that give kids the idea of what monsters
have in their diet. The sandwich is a real hit with the kids"

"I was so
thrilled to receive my Monster Sandwich. It is really perfect
and so detailed right down to the moldy bread. My media
secretary is still sad about the pig, but she is getting over
it. I plan on using my monster sandwich with my third classes
in about two weeks. I will be using it with the book
Frankenstein Makes a Sandwich: and other stories you’re sure to
like because they’re all about monsters, and some of them are
about food, and you like food, don’t you? Well, all right then.
I know that my third
graders are going to be beside themselves when they see this
puppet.You
can be sure that the next time we have some extra funds
available we will be purchasing some more goodies from Mimi" Amy
